When I recently sold off a lot of my coats with the intention of simplifying my collection with more classic pieces, a jacket that hadn't been on my list or even on my mind, was a lightly quilted number, the kind of jacket I imagine country folk wearing with wellington boots, that was until I was offered to review one from Joules.
I have never had an item of clothing from Joules before and have to say the attention to detail and quality really are outstanding and I love the two press studs that are different from the rest and sport a foxes head. My chosen jacket was called Marcotte which comes in navy (with floral lining) or black with check lining. I love the funnel neck to keep out the chill and the detachable hood which is a wet weather must have, perfect for when you can't navigate an umbrella (like this morning when I went to town to get my hair done - typical).

Joules Marcotte Jacket £99
I was always previously of the opinion that outwear had to contain copious amounts of duck feathers to keep you warm but I have been pleasantly surprised by the warmth of this lightweight jacket and have to confess it feels good to be cosy without being weighed down by a heavy coat, I really don't know why I hadn't thought about trying one before. I find the semi fitted styling quite snug so you might want to size up if you are a lover of chunky knits but that could just be my bust and broad back (god damn apple shape) as all the reviews I read say it fits true to size.
Light, warm, perfectly tailored and comfort driven are words that spring to mind when describing this fab jacket and it will work perfectly for my weekend in Barcelona where I have to face the great British winter either end!

I am so impressed by the Joules jacket range the brand have to offer that I am adding the two padded coats above to my wishlist!
