As much as it pains me to admit it, the older I get the more my skin demands to be taken care of, and moisturisation and exfoliation are key to keeping my skin feeling comfortable and nourished. I don't normally use a serum or face oil but needs must, and with a harsh winter ahead coupled with an increasing love of natural products, I am giving Dr Jacksons Face Oil a try.  Formulated with 100% natural ingredients including Baobab, Marula oils, extracts of Calendula and Arnica flowers, the oil is rich in protective antioxidants and nourishing acids for improved elasticity and hydration. Available here.

In summer our skin demands care as we bare our limbs and pretty sandals call for the perfect pedicure/hard skin removal. Come winter, we cover up and lose sight of the fact that sub zero temperatures and central heating have just as much of a drying effect on our skin as the sun, therefore your beauty regime needs to continue and not stop the minute the Ugg boots make an appearance. Body Lotion alone just won't cut it, you need to exfoliate the dead and dry skin away first, allowing your skin to drink up the moisture your body milk or lotion will provide. You don't need to spend a fortune, some of my favourites are very purse friendly. I am a massive fan of the Sanctuary's body scrubs and the hot sugar scrub above is my particular favourite. Not only do I love the frangrance but the way the consistency changes as soon as it hits your hot, wet skin in the shower .........

and have just bought the Anatomicals body scrub containing walnut shells with an invigorating grapefruit fragrance. £3.60 here. It was such a good price and with the free delivery you get at Asos, made it a worthy buy that would also be a great stocking filler.

Just 48 hours away last weekend in Barcelona where the temperature was at least 10 degrees warmer than the UK,  but a failure to pack any body lotion or lip balm and by Sunday evening my skin was itching like crazy and my lips were feeling a little worse for wear after a full day's sightseeing without the constant re-application of lipstick. Just a few dabs of Dr Jacksons Coconut Melt Everything Balm and they were back to smooth and comfy in no time.  This is a balm that is not only completely natural being formulated with 100% coconut oil, like many now on the market, the balm is also a multi-tasker and can be used as a body balm, hair, lip or cuticle oil. Solid at room temperature but melts on touch to leave skin and hair intensely hydrated, this balm also works to slow down the signs of ageing. Shame they don't sell a pot big enough to dip my whole face in! Buy here.

I've been regularly using the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant for almost a year now and am really happy with this cult product but am giving a new brand a try, the Rose Hydrate Brighten and Refine facial scrub by Super Facialist Una Brennan £8.99 here.
Available exclusively at Boots, the collection of Rose products are designed to  hydrate and provide comfort to even the most delicate skin, making them perfect for cold weather sensitive skin. And of course they smell utterly divine! You can read more about the brand and it's other collections including Vitamin C to Brighten, Tea Flower to deep clean, and Neroli to firm.here.

Buy Origins Precipitation™ Extra Continuous Moisture Recovery For Very Dry Skin, 200ml Online at johnlewis.com
I am also on the look out for an intense body moisturiser/butter and shall be adding this one by Origins to my Christmas List. I think it would make the perfect stocking filler! £28 from John Lewis.
