As some of you may already know I had a routine hospital appointment the day before New Years Day, all was well and another one the day after. Two appointments sandwiched either side of New Years Day was not exactly how I had planned to see 2013 out nor 2014 in! Thursdays appointment was to have a small lesion removed from my face, at the side between my eye and hairline. The whole thing has been a NHS fiasco to be honest and an ongoing saga since spring. Images taken of said lesion which weren't clear and I had to go back, twice. The summer moved on, two holidays with the use of factor 50 sunscreen and a hat until finally in October I get the news it is possibly something sinister, basal cell carcinoma and will be removed. Whilst awaiting for minor op appointment I get a letter to say I had failed to turn up for my appointment, yes you guessed it, an appointment I had never received and was still patiently awaiting for! Bloody NHS! Anyway the upshot is, it has gone and I await results, but do have a bit of headache and a nice big fat dressing on my face which I can't get wet (perfect excuse to get a wash and blow dry). I was also more than shocked to be told to completely rest for 2-3 days and not to bend down for up to two weeks so that the blood doesn't rush to my head and the wound starts bleeding! Both crazy (according to OH.........) and difficult, try remembering to squat just to put the washing in the machine so that you are not bending over. So I just wanted to make you ladies aware that it is not just moles that either suddenly appear or change that you need to be aware of but in fact anything that might crop up and not go away is always worth a mention next time you are off to the surgery for something else. My lesion just looked like a blister.
CAN NOT WAIT to have the dressing off and the stitches out next Thursday, meanwhile I shall try and take it easy for the rest of the weekend and get back to the real world of work, housework and proper blogging next week.
Here's what I wore to my appointment......(I wasn't smiling for long).
Scarf - Louis Vuitton (when am I seen without it?) similar here Boots - Oasis similar here Bag - Louis Vuitton similar here
So it hurts when I pull any kind of facial expression and I wake up every time I turn over in bed, other than that I'm fine!
I hope you all have a fab weekend!
