Trend Report - Culottes

Masculine inspired culottes - wish they were a tad bit longer though.

They say if you wore a trend the first time round, you shouldn't wear it the second, but we all know fashion rules are there to be broken and although I agree with the sentiment wholeheartedly when it comes to garments such as Disco Pants and Ra Ra Skirts (yes I once wore them) but when it comes to Culottes, I am happy to make an exception and break the rules.

Wide leg cropped trousers and a cropped jacket/cardigan. From 9 to 5 Chic.

I just think they look so chic and just like jeans, these dress up or down perfectly.  Add a classic black pointed toe court shoe and statement necklace for evening glamour then swap for a pair of classic brogues or this seasons must have footwear, the skater shoe for pared back daytime chic.

The options really are endless and they look smart enough for the office with classic cut shirts whereas jumpers, trainers and a backpack are the more youthful styling options. I'd like to wear mine with the bronze cropped jacket from Autograph at M&S and leopard print across body bag.

Uniqlo Long Sleeve Crew Neck T-shirt £9.90. Carvela Sandals at Kurt Geiger £95. Black Culottes Kin by John Lewis £69. Somerset By Alice Temperley Leopard Bag £155. Michael Kors Aviator Style Sunglasses £101. Autograph at M&S Bronze Jacquard Jacket £99.

Viyella £99.90 at John Lewis. Soft Pleat Culottes £45 Warehouse. Tapestry Culottes in Watermelon £120 Somerset by Alice Temperley.

Plain or printed, are culottes on your new season wishlist?
