As soon as I watched the first Sex And The City movie and saw how cool Carrie looked in her Panama (whilst in her "mexicoma") I knew I had to have one and found a fantastic one from Planet which was reduced by 50% from it's original £50 and fitted my rather large head perfectly.
I had never really worn a hat on holiday before then, but it has become more and more fashionable to wear one not just abroad, but they look super stylish on a hot summers day in the UK too. Wearing a hat is not just about making a fashion statement, it is so important to protect yourself in the sun and keep your head covered. I love how I no longer get a burnt centre parting or crispy sun dried hair but the importance of wearing a hat in the sun was bought home even more when I had a lesion appear on my face last year and was told by my dermatologist to always wear a hat and sunglasses along with factor 50 sunscreen on my face whenever out in the sun. The lesion wasn't a Basal Cell Carcinoma after all (thankfully) but it made me even more aware of keeping my face and head covered.
The girls wore some fantastic hats they had recently bought whilst in Marbella last week. The Bride To Be opted for this seasons Trilby from Accessorize £12 here. Most probably the neatest style of sun hat around, almost upstaged by her stunning Miu Miu glitter sunglasses which I wish were mine!

I loved Courtenays Asos floppy hat and so did everyone else as it is now sadly out of stock, but I can at least pinch hers! Floppy hats are so "La Zoe" and work perfectly with the boho trend! Accessorise have a similar one here.
I am most definitely leaning toward the larger more glamorous looking styles when it comes to poolside chic, have a look at some of my favourites and let me know what you think!
