If there is one thing I really admire in some of my fellow bloggers and friends, the ability to make a list and stick to it. Whether that list contains items to fill a current gap in her wardrobe or consists of this seasons must have pieces, her ability to stick rigidly to what she wants fills me with total admiration.
Me, well I make a list and go completely off piste! I see things bought by others and get tempted. I see things that sparkle, shoes with glitter and a pretty top that I don't really need and buy them anyway, because, well just because.
The whole point of starting this blog many years ago was to curb these completely irrational shopping tendencies and I have to admit I haven't done very well. Yes I have far more wardrobe staples than when I started out and lots of mix and match neutrals and breton tops which of course go with everything, but there are still gaps, so yet again, I have made a list of things I need to fill said summer gaps rather than a wishlist of things I either can't afford or won't end up getting anyway.
1. Kimono
I first thought about one of these many months ago. I didn't want the kind of thing my daughters wear to festivals with fringing but something that could be worn on holiday and double up as a lightweight jacket over a cami or t-shirt to lift the jeans/top combo. I had also decided that I didn't want anything really pale in colour, I prefer a slightly darker print and have ordered one from Asos which now appears to have sold out and if I don't like it, I have a couple of others I have my eye on, one of which is the Mosoon one pictured above. It appears to have embellishment around the edge to satisfy my magpie tendencies and is probably far better quality than the Asos one, you get what you pay for!
2. Denim Shorts
Kind of don't really worry as much about high end denim as I did years ago, just want to find some shorts of the right length in a relaxed style as my old Juicy Couture pair have seen better days, I can't even remember how many years I have had them!

3. Tan Sandals
Now before you say anything about me having a shoe addiction there is one thing you have to understand and that is that despite copious amounts of summer footwear, I don't own any tan sandals. I had my eye on a Rupert Sanderson pair a few years ago but I never managed to get them in the sale so still need to snag me a pair. They must be quite simple in style, not too many buckles or detailing, a true classic. And I'm struggling to find any. I was hoping to see some high end ones to ear mark for sale time but alas nothing grabs me, it's pretty much only Kurt Geiger that is coming up trumps and although the ones pictured above are more a mule, there is something about them that appeals to me.

4. Breton Dress
Yes would you believe it, a wardrobe full of stripes and nothing longer than hip length! In light of the fact the original one I wanted from Boden is no longer available, I like the tunic shape of this one by Toast. I'm only interested in the navy/white colourway, lots of black and white stripe dresses around but they are not for me.
So do you make a list and stick to it or are you an impulse buyer who goes with what you like when you see it?
