I had some Hotter Shoes gift vouchers burning a hole in my wallet from a Bloggers event I had attended at the end of April and still hadn't got round to spending with May being such a hectic month! When I was in Canterbury last week I decided to go in store and try a couple of styles on that were on my radar from seeing them up close and personal at Somerset House where I got to meet the lovely people from Hotter.
I thought about their gorgeous tan wedges but remembered my middle daughter (the only one with my size feet) has a very similar pair that I could borrow so that seemed pointless. Then I remembered the silver embellished sandals bought by Sharon from Thrift My Style and felt that they would be very versatile and a great summer evening sandal when you couldn't face anything higher.
But in the end it was the espadrille style wedge that won out and even then I had to make the difficult decision between black and cream but as you can see I went for the paler colour in the end, well it is summer after all!
I haven't actually worn them out yet as I am so busy working and when I have been out the house, it has been raining (typical) but I have tried them on with dresses and jeans and they most certainly go with both! The funny thing was we were out picking up the wedding dress the day I got these and my eldest peeped in the bag and said "Mum you do realise your new shoes are called Chloe don't you?". Well funnily enough I didn't, but it seemed very fitting at the time and kind of special in a way!
Anyway before I turn into a complete sap, just let me tell you I have seen lots of similar styles around this season but I bet they are nowhere near as comfortable as these babies and the fact they have a non slip sole pleases me immensely. Shop the Chloe here.
Are you buying wedge espadrilles this summer?
