On Your Marks

So the Marks and Spencer obsession continues into autumn/winter and although I still don't have an official new season wishlist, there is lots to love at good old M&S again this season.

You probably saw in my last post the faux fur gilet from the Limited Edition collection and the gorgeous Autograph black leather backpack, well let me just say when I had a very quick browse in store the other day looking for a black dress, that quick trip took far longer than anticipated because I kept stopping and either fondling or trying on items so there is much more on my radar now, drat and double drat but there is 20% off at the moment using code SEP14EM until 23rd September, so I may have to take my stuff back and re-order!

1. Cross Front Tunic Dress £45.

First up is the black tunic dress which I bought for a funeral. Yes I have other black dresses but they are a bit too "evening" or aren't plain black and I wanted plain. I also wanted short sleeved and a tunic/shift shape, plus it had to be a dress that would earn it's keep, so something that would work for evening with heels and a sparkly clutch as well as for daytime was important. This dress would also be great for interviews or the office if you are a working mum. So I bought it and I love it on, little black dress perfection especially for us apple shapes. I also have a christening at the end of the month so may wear it to that.

2. Leopard Print Cocoon Coat £89.

It;s been a couple of years since I wore my leopard print coat, it's a tad tight now if I'm honest so it would be good to replace it and this one has been on my radar for a little while now. Funny thing is, I tried this on instore, picked up the hanger with my size on, thought "bloody hell this is tight" as I struggled to get my arms in it. Once on, I thought it wasn't very roomy and perhaps it came up small so I had better try a larger size, then as I took it off I saw on the swing tag I had been squeezing myself into a size 8! So from that little story you can see it comes up quite roomy meaning the size that actually fitted me best was a size down to my normal. Loved it and it's on the list. Just hoping as with most things at M&S that I like, it doesn't sell out any time soon.

3. Dobby Print Dress £49.50.

Now if I had known this dress was called a Prom Dress on the website, I probably wouldn't of tried it on. I did and I absolutely loved it, it just wasn't right for what I wanted a black dress for, although this is most certainly going to be the first item that goes onto the winter wishlist. It was flattering on and one of those items that the website nor the model shot does no justice to whatsoever. I would happily wear this out on winter evenings.

4. Embellished Striped Top £55.

This needs no explanation from me at all. L.O.V.E.

5. Limited Edition Panelled Ponte Leggings £29.50

I don't really wear leggings except for work but really want something a bit thicker than the norm to wear with ankle boots. Sometimes the width of jeans just don't sit right but you can't go wrong with leggings and these are a lovely thick fabric but soft to the touch. Fitted perfectly in my normal size.

6. Pure Cotton Oxford Shirt £25.

I've been hankering after a blue shirt for about two years now, ever since I saw Olivia Palermo wear one layered under a three quarter length sleeve beige jumper. Well if you didn't know, blue shirts are a bit of a micro trend this season so it might be a good time to grab one and wear alone then layer it under black, grey or camel knitwear once it gets colder.
