Ever since the Zara two strap sandals first hit the shop floor, it seemed as though every fashion blogger worth their salt had bought a pair and I have to confess, I was sorely tempted. I tried on the red and pink combo, then sobbed just a little as I realised I could never walk in them. How people were reporting that they were comfortable I will never know, but perhaps it is just my aged feet that are finding it difficult to cope with heels these days.

I still loved them though and gradually other footwear brands began to do their own versions (one of my daughters got a pair from Topshop) but at least that meant that their was more availability for those wishing to invest in a style that was continuing to gain in popularity and would reign supreme long after Zara had sold out.

This season see's updated as well as classic versions for all budgets, check out my favourites..........

Clarks continue to combine style with comfort with a sturdier version featuring a deeper across foot strap and softwear cushioning. £69.99 shop here.

isabella, orange shoe by kurt geiger london - women shoes sandals

The Kurt Geiger two strap has a sturdier heel and aren't so high as to have you reaching for your "party feet".  Available in orange, black, silver and metallic, the mock croc effect brings the style bang up to date. £195 buy here.

Dune's more purse friendly classic offering comes in black, turquoise or white and reminds me of the style Jennifer Aniston has been wearing on the red carpet for years, so if you are looking for a sandal that won't date and will work with any outfit, this is my top pick. £65.00 buy here.

If you happen to wear a Michael Kors rose gold watch, surely you will be lusting after the Reiss metallic version of the iconic sandal. These will see you through party season and well into 2015 - divine! £129 buy here.

Have you invested in the two strap sandal trend?
