Kitch #greensmoothie of spinach, banana, mango with coconut milk #vegan
I'm not very good at healthy eating.  I have adopted a few recipes I make on a regular basis ever since I attended the My Deliciously Healthy Kitchen workshop back in January.  The chicken skewers and quinoa recipe I learnt that day has become a firm family favourite and a thai soup recipe taken from the website features heavily in my cooking repertoire, hell I even use it as a base for a delicious curry, so I do feel somewhat proud of myself.

Emily from My Deliciously Healthy Kitchen had a dream of opening  her own cafe serving up healthy, wholesome food with a space to run her cookery courses from, rather than holding them at various venue's which involved the transportation of all sorts of kitchen paraphernalia/ingredients and now, after months of council planning permission stress and building completion date changes, I am pleased to announce that finally "Kitch" has opened in the beautiful and historic Canterbury in Kent.

My daughter and I were lucky enough to have an appointment in Canterbury on Kitch's second day of opening and I was so excited, not only to see the space itself but to also sample some more of Emily's healthy delights - courgette cake, who knew?

The two story cafe in St Peter's Street (which leads on from the High Street) is part of the old weavers house which has been there since 1500AD and  is just a stone's throw away from Canterbury Cathedral.  Kitch is open 8.30 - 5.30 daily for breakfast, lunch and snacks.  You can pop in for a smoothie or juice before work or enjoy their hot dish of the day and a selection of fresh salads  to eat in or take away.

If you fancy adding some deliciously healthy recipes to your weekly meal plan then why not check out Kitch's cookery classes for yourself?   November 7th sees a Saturday evening Raw Chocolate Workshop with special guest Laura Coxeter from River Cottage fame. To view and book all upcoming classes which include pizza making and an introduction to the Wholefood Kitchen, click here.

Emily is also available for "one to one" classes/appointments for anybody who would like to learn more about healthy eating and the health benefits  it can bring.

Have you been trying to eat healthy lately?
