I've long read about the amazing prices of cashmere on the High Street but never picked up a jumper by John Lewis, or low and behold, Tesco. Until now.
An impromptu trip to Tesco last week involved a glance around the Home & Wear department (as you do) when I spotted the cashmere reduced to crazy silly prices and the pocket jumper above, down to just £18! It didn't take long before I decided the purchase of said jumper was a no brainer and boy am I glad I did because it is still £30 on the website, how does that work?
Before I put it on, I had to have a "touch test" to assess the quality compared to other cashmere knitwear I already own and have to say it doesn't feel any different or of a lesser quality. In fact I would go as far to say that the Tesco jumper is actually softer than the Iris and Ink (The Outnets own brand clothing) pink one I got for my birthday.
The only downfall for me is that the sleeves are too long, but then I am only short so often encounter this problem! Other than that I am pleased with my cosy cash saver. I wasn't in the market for a new jumper at all but it was just too good a bargain to resist! I opted for mink and was sorely tempted by their Breton offering but that was still £30.
Have you ever bought cashmere from your local supermarket or bought something you didn't really need just because it was so cheap?
