We have had the heating on a few times, but only to take the chill off, although it was pretty much on constantly this past weekend, which leaves me convinced me we are not going to get off lightly after all.
We have seen snow in March before and I remember getting sunburnt on an Easter Sunday once (early 80's) so I think the weather has always been weird and completely unpredictable to be honest.
So if your thoughts have already turned to spring and summer trends and new season drops, you may need to think again, because its time to check that wardrobe for cold weather essentials and if you don't have any, think of them as chill factor style staples that will last you for years. Remember you need to be warm indoors, warm whilst travelling to and from work/school run etc and warm whilst you venture out to the supermarket, so here is my cold weather edit, perfect for keeping you warm throughout a frosty, and probably snowy February!
Who knew that in addidition to their famous welly socks, Hunter now do Shearling Insoles (£15) for the ultimate in cosy toe luxury. Layer up with the Berwick Cable Cardi from Baukjen, now with the added bonus of being reduced from £99 to just £29! Cashmere gloves will keep your digits warm, flexible and most importantly, frost bite free, was £45 now £25 from Hush.
Bobble hats remain the Bloggers favourite cold weather headgear of choice and this Asos option is now just £9.50 in the sale and is also available in other colours. If you can't get through a cold spell spending your days in cosy cashmere leggings or jeans, and need to wear dresses or skirts, then these Merino mix tights from Falke will beat any low denomination denier for warmth £29. If like me, you can't think of anything worse than cold ears, the Ugg classic sheepskin earmuffs will prove to be a cold weather must have £45.
A faux fur snood will add a touch of glamour to any welly boot/puffa coat combo £22 Asos. Essential dog walks and school runs just got a whole lot warmer with these Heatech leggings/trousers from Uniqlo now just £14.90. If rubber boots really aren't your thing, then a shearling lined leather boot which is a cross between a wellington and a biker, might just be your perfect cold weather footwear solution £175 LK Bennett.
What are your "go to" cold weather style staples and did you invest in any of these this winter?
