Hard to believe that it is all over now, but it really was the perfect day!

So proud of my four gorgeous kids!

With rain and thunderstorms being forecast all week, Friday turned out to be a gloriously sunny and warm day. How lucky were we?  Especially after my daughters plans of walking to our village church were scuppered by the weathermen and left me in a transport dilemma but luckily I managed to get a vintage car booked as late as Tuesday, what a relief that was!

The grooms sister got very emotional as she read the first reading. My son was amazing reading the second one!

My ex-husband and my brother cried throughout the church service and my ex throughout his speech! The groom also got very emotional and both his and the bestmans speeches were some of the best I have ever had the privilege to hear. Both myself and my husband had been pretty composed until this point, which was surprising for me, I usually cry at the drop of a hat!

The reception was held at the Barnyard in Upchurch, a truly stunning rural location with the biggest marquee at the back I have ever seen, required due to the large number of guests.

Chloe wanted a shabby chic theme for the venue and shunned their conference chairs with covers and sashes in favour of white washed ladder back chairs which were hired in.  The whole family had been collecting glass jars for a year which Chloe had painstakingly dressed with lace and the florist had filled with the most beautiful blooms to compliment the bouquets.

There were so many lovely touches, from her Dad's ladders dressed and painted for the occasion to the hand made bunting consisting of photo's of the happy couple taken during their six years together. I also adored the boards with the "love" quotes scattered around and the naked wedding cake.

Chloe wanted a mismatched colour theme and incorporated all kinds of flowers in various colours in the bouquets and although the grooms men didn't have pink ties and pocket squares to match the bridesmaid dresses, I have to agree that I think it all worked really well together.

The dancefloor was pretty much full the whole evening and I could be found making some shapes to "I found lovin" by the Fat Back Band (one of my favourite tracks from my early clubbing days) and Luther's "Never too much" never fails to fill the floor, I remember it doing the same job at my 40th over ten years ago!

We ate and drunk until midnight and from the lovely comments and compliments, it really does seem that a great time was had by all with so many people saying it was the best wedding they had ever been too!

As a mother of the bride, I couldn't of wished for more, my daughter was over the moon with how the day went and that is good enough for me. Just don't let either of my other two daughters get engaged any time soon, I think the stress would kill me! Oh and apologises for the photo's not being the greatest quality, I was too busy to take any so these have been taken by other people on the day.

After a hectic and somewhat stressful week, hopefully normal blog service will be resumed very soon!
