New In November

Hardly the month to go spending lots of money on anything fashion related, especially with a weekend away and Christmas just around the corner, but I did have a few little indulgences. Everything I bought was reduced to be fair, and a couple of items bought in the House of Fraser brand event were early birthday and Christmas presents as my mum gave me the money early, something I will probably live to regret come full blown sale time!

The stress of the fifth and final day of wedding dress shopping led me to believe that I deserved this £8 Topshop necklace and after paying the dress deposit, I was lucky I had £8 left to be honest!

I wore it with a denim shirt and my camel coat but stupidly my camera covers that area!

I always seem to get the H&M bargain updates from Susie. Not only was she responsible for this navy jacket purchase by myself and a few other bloggers (half price at £19.99 with a £5 off code, now back to full price here) she was also responsible for a £3.99 grey sweatshirt I bought back in spring time.  A reefer jacket or peacoat  were on my "maybe another year" list so it wasn't something I was looking to buy, again, just couldn't resist such a bargain! The fabric reminds me of a donkey jacket to be honest, you know those coats that workmen used to wear, not for how it looks but for how it feels, not the softest of materials and it is quite heavy but for the money and the way it looks when worn, I think it is worth every penny. It is actually made using recycled wool and part of their conscious collection, so a great choice for anybody looking for ethically sourced clothing.

I wore it with my beloved LV scarf which has been bought out of it's box ready for winter, my Alexander Wang Rocco bag which hasn't seen the light of day for ages and my tan suede Oasis boots (similar here) which are now into their third winter and are proving to be a real staple so far this season.

On the advice of Michelle I decided to keep a beady eye out on Ebay to replace my ruined red New Look ballet flats.  I didn't want to spend out on a new pair at this time of year when they won't get worn until springtime so I was determined to get a half decent brand at a knock down price and achieved just that with these red patent India style flats from French Sole. A bit grubby on one of the toes but that has now cleaned off nicely. Seller probably had the hump that they went so cheap and refused to clean before posting!

Broke my self inflicted "I will only wear dresses with sleeves" rule once again with this Pied A Terre Cocoon dress. Well I was trying to think ahead to my daughters Marbella hen do with this one.

A quick try on with pasty legs, no make-up and the upper arms of a Russian Shot Putter and I declared it a keeper.  A dress that will work for all seasons, with or without tights, with or without a jacket. Thanks Mum and a happy birthday to me for the 15th.

If you keep on, and on, and on about wanting something enough, someone is sure to give in, so thanks Mummy for my early Christmas pressie! See how I revert back to petulant teenager or Violet Elisabeth clone (I'll scream and scream and scream until I'm sick) until I get what I want. Laugh out very loud, no wonder my three girls are the same, oh dear what have I done? I do not a good example set. Just as my mum gives in to me, I give in to them but that is what mums are for, right?

I had to try them on immediately, hence unpainted toe nails and joggers, but once I had made it from sofa to dining table (you know I can't walk in heels any more) I declared them a keeper despite them making my toes look like a pack of Richmond chipolatas and hid a £10 note in the back of my purse for a taxi. Both dress and shoes were featured in my recent "Outfit du Jour" post here.

And finally a freebie! Love, love bloody love this Nails Inc polish that came free with the December issue of Glamour.  Anyone who knows me well will know that I only wear red polish in the run up to the festive season and although I have a large collection of various shades of red from Chanel, Opi and Shellac, this is by far my favourite.  Apart from the fact the name is so inviting to someone who is New York obsessed, Big Apple Red is the perfect pillar box shade for me.  I can't find this for sale anywhere online which feels like a tragedy, so if you know anything be sure to keep me informed!

What did you get new in November?

If you haven't noticed the Candis Blogger Awards icon over on the right hand side of the blog, I have been nominated along with 9 other amazing fashion and  beauty bloggers and would really appreciate it if you could click through here and vote for me. I know it takes time and effort but I would be eternally grateful xx
