Something for the Weekend- What I'm loving this week and some Mothers Day discount codes!

I am so happy that Friday was the last day of getting up at 6am, well for a few weeks anyway.  Claudia's three month internship in the fashion department of New! magazine finally came to an end so the alarm will be reset for 6.30, my usual get up time for Charlie's 7.23 departure for the school bus and I just know that half an hour will make a massive difference to that feeling of constantly being tired for the last three months. It won't last long though, she has three weeks to relax and then it's back to Red Magazine (for the fourth time) closely followed by a month in the fashion department of Brides Magazine. Please let this girl get a paid position soon, she has certainly worked hard enough since deciding to give up Uni after just one year last summer.

This week has been a good week and I lay that solely at the feet of the Baukjen clearance sale. I panicked, placed one order, than went back for seconds, but it had to be done at up to 70% off, there were and still are some great deals on forever pieces and I can happily report that I love the dark chambray shirt, maja joggers, sequin dress and cardigan. I seriously don't think anything makes me happier than getting a great deal. Haul post to follow at some stage.

I went shopping on Friday (hence being late with this post) and had a good browse around the shops (blog research purposes only of course) and can offer a white shirt update in relation to my Basics and Replacements post. Marks and Spencer didn't have the Autograph white shirt I featured  in store in my size. This was really annoying as, like many of you, being bigger busted and broad round the back, I also need to ensure I won't be giving anyone an eyeful in the boob department with gaps and buttons popping open, so was desperate to try it on!
So as I can't give details on the actual fit, if you are still looking, the key to this has to be going for a looser boyfriend shirt cut like MIH one I featured, rather than a classic ladies fitted style as it seems even quite slender ladies have problems with gaps in the bust area. Another option is too go up a size.
The M&S one from the Autograph range is great quality and beautifully finished in addition to being a great price, so is well worth checking out as it has fantastic reviews online also.

 I have long been in the market for a blue shirt to wear under a cream Topshop jumper I rarely wear as it has cropped sleeves, and I picked up more of a silky/crepey blouse than a classic shirt, again in the Autograph section, partly drawn to it by the fact that there was a big banner of Rosie Huntington Whitely wearing the same top close by.

The look I was trying to channel with the jumper I have never worn was something like this.....

I also went into River Island as my eldest needed to change something and I can report that they have some really lovely summer sandals in stock.  I loved a pair with a glitter strap but was even more drawn to these as they are such a great homage to Valentino's Rockstud range and a mere snippet of a designer price tag at only £35.


With Mothers Day just over a week away, as we walked past a pair of Ugg Slippers, I said to my daughter that I would be happy if the four of them chipped in and bought me a pair.  My feet have been so cold this winter, I have had days when I have kept my Uggs on and worn them as slippers and I don't want to get caught out next year! I wouldn't mind but my Next slippers are faux fur lined but just haven't cut it and I have wanted a sheepskin pair for ages.


I'd also be really happy with a much cheaper alternative......
